Roll Anime to Fight Traits & Trait Shards (August 2026)

Traits are per-unit bonus stats you can reroll at the Trait Machine using Trait Shards. Together with mutations they decide whether two copies of the same character perform completely differently. Shards are scarce — this page is about not wasting them.

Getting Trait Shards

Reroll strategy that doesn't waste shards

  1. Pick the unit first, not the trait. Only reroll units with a permanent slot on your team — code units you'll keep (Gold Kashimo) or mutated rolls (why mutations first).
  2. Reroll for a named problem. Dying to spawn density → survivability. Gold-starved → Gold-gain. Wall breaking too slow → damage. If you can't name the problem, don't spend.
  3. Stop at "good enough". A useful trait on a proven unit beats chasing a perfect label whose exact odds nobody has verified.
  4. Budget for the future. Keep a reserve — each update adds stronger units (see update history), and the meta anchor you reroll next month may not exist yet.

Named traits players ask about

Destroyer and Slayer come up constantly in search and Discord chat. Both are damage-side effects per community testing; the developer publishes no exact multipliers, so treat any precise numbers you see quoted as unverified. What matters for play: they're desirable pulls on DPS units, and not worth rerolling off a tank.

Traits FAQ

What do Trait Shards do?

They are the currency of the Trait Machine — each reroll spends shards for a chance at a different trait on the selected unit.

How do I get Trait Shards?

Codes are the richest verified source: expired codes shipped 10–25 shards each, and new update codes regularly include them. Beyond codes, shards come from playing wave content and events.

What traits exist and what are the odds?

Community reports name damage, HP, speed, Gold-gain and critical-damage style bonuses, plus named traits like Destroyer and Slayer. The developer has not published the full pool or its odds, so we do not print a percentages table we cannot verify.

Should I reroll a fresh roll right away?

No — reroll only units that have already earned a permanent team slot. Shards spent on a unit you later replace are gone.
